From my early days as a graffiti artist in Newnan, Georgia, to my transformative residency in Japan, my personal art journey has been one of evolution and storytelling. After honing my craft as an artist and pushing my creativity, I ultimately served in the U.S. Air Force, where my art took a backseat, yet my perspective profoundly deepened. After an honorable discharge in 2015, I reignited my passion earning a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. My artwork, influenced by both urban grit and meditative calm, tell immersive stories that invite viewers into a world where nature and spirit intertwine.
Today, Das.BK creates from a place of introspection and empathy, drawing from his diverse experiences to craft pieces that resonate with authenticity and depth. "Bright colors and inviting shapes was my focus on this floor piece. Hexagons are such an iconic part of downtown Newnan’s history. Since they once covered the city walkways of our beautiful town it seemed right to have them be the design’s backbone." Amber Stidham
Amber Stidham painted the mural of the “Bubble Girl,” who she named Lily, in October 2018. When she heard that the building’s owner was looking for a mural, the guidelines were to reflect happiness and Newnan scenery.
Stidham wanted “to capture a childlike wonder and the way it felt to be young when anything was possible.”
One of Coweta’s oldest and best-loved murals is “Faces and Places,” on the wall of Vinylyte Records and across from the Carnegie Library. Painted in 1998, the large mural features some of the area’s most renowned citizens including author and humorist Lewis Grizzard and Newnan’s first Black doctor, John Henry Gordon.
There’s a “Small Town Southern Man” being painted on the side of the Redneck Gourmet building at 11 North Court Square in downtown Newnan, Ga.
Of course, the “man” is Newnan native and Country Music Hall of Fame member Alan Jackson.
The new 20-foot-by-40-foot mural is being painted by Tim Davis, who also painted the mural of 13 country stars on the side of Nashville’s Legends Corner in 2016.
Tim is the current Newnan artist-in-residence. The mural wall and design were chosen by Alan’s management, fan club and the local artist-in-residence program.
“I feel very privileged to have been asked to paint this mural for Mr. Jackson and the city of Newnan,” says Tim to NCD. “The residents are wonderful people, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

Molly Rose Freeman is an artist and designer who explores the heartbeat of the living world. Combining rich colors and dynamic patterns, her work spans a variety of media, including large-scale murals, textile design, drawing, painting, sculpture and installation.
The mural is a series of geometric shapes reminiscent of flowers or mandalas in an arching pattern that mimics nearby building facades.
