History of the Building:
9 W Broad Street is home to Atlanta Trek Newnan, a family owned and operated bicycle shop. Before being able to rent bicycles at this building, 9 W Broad Street had offered other services to the community. The first documentation of the building was in 1885, as the building housed Wilkinson’s Warehouse until 1889. From 1895 to 1906, the building was used specifically as the sales room for the Powell Cotton Warehouse. In 1911, Guano & Cotton Warehouse moved its office space into this building. Succeeded this company was Wanda McClendon CPA, until it became Georgia Natural Gas Company in 1983 before its current business as a bicycle shop.
